And said Godard: "In the temple of cinema there are images, light and reality. Sergei Parajanov was the master of that temple"
~ Sergei Parajanov's unmistakable films are rarely watched, often admired, and usually regarded as some of the most important movies of the 20th century. While equally important, Sergei Parajanov is significantly less known than his peers Tarkovsky, Fellini, Antonioni, Godard, though at various times, these great filmmakers called Parajanov a “genius”, a ”master”, and a “magician”.
SERGEI PARAJANOV - "Direction is about truth. It's about God, love and tragedy"

Tarkovsky helped people decipher the poetic metaphor. By studying Tarkovsky and playing different variations on him, I became stronger myself... I did not know how to do anything and I would not have done anything if there had not been Ivan's Childhood."
